Nowadays, you find different varieties of rice. Rice is the staple food of Filipinos and there is not a celebration or gathering where rice is not included in the menu.
To make things a little interesting, a relative of ours created blue rice, which is basically white rice mixed with a blue edible flower to make it blue. Just don't ask me what plant variety it was because I don't know.
We just asked for a sample and had the plant in our backyard, waiting for it to flower to add spice to our menu.
